This 1.5-hour course on Adoption-Sensitive Clinical Care features our most streamlined version of the Understanding Infant Adoption 7 curriculum designed for hospital-based staff.

This shorter-format training will introduce hospital-based staff to the basics of offering adoption as an option in pregnancy counseling, state and federal adoption laws, adoption types and practices, making appropriate referrals for patients considering adoption, and adoption-sensitive hospital policy.

Participants will learn from a mix of reading sections; interactive activities; prompts for reflection; vignettes and case studies; and videos.

While anyone is welcome to participate in this training, we specifically recommend the 1.5-hour version for:
  • OB/GYNs
  • Nurse-Midwives
  • Labor & Delivery Nurses
  • Emergency Medicine Physicians
  • Pediatricians
  • Chaplains
  • Anyone who wants to learn the basics of adoption-sensitive clinical care for expectant parents facing an unintended pregnancy
